what's new

you might have noticed i've been remiss in posting updates. here's a quick rundown of the top events in the reece household lately:

5. we moved. and moving sucks. really. not only do we have 100 times more stuff than when we last moved (in 2003), but it weighs a ton and was purchased to fit perfectly in our old house. we've lost a few pieces (because they wouldn't fit) and still have a room full of boxes (that i refuse to acknowledge). we're making progress, though, and one day, we will actually post photos!

4. mason's potty trained! we reached this milestone several months ago, but somehow i never told the blogosphere. while there is still an occasional accident (like today at naptime when he slept so hard he didn't even realize he went), we've been a diaper-free, mickey-mouse-underoos-wearing big boy since april!

3. brad's almost done with his field training. within weeks of being "on his own," he's counting down the days to bring the black-and-white to live at our house.

2. we're counting down the days (t minus one month) until vacation. we're all going this year (brad's missed the last 2) and can't wait to soak up some sun and fun in new york!

1. God decided mason needed to be a big brother! it was a total surprise to us (quite the change from the first round, which took 2+ years and fertility medicine!) and we will be welcoming another reece's pieces on dec. 6. :)

the magic words

despite the lack of activity on the blog, we are indeed still alive and still trying to get settled in the new house. we moved in 17 days ago and are still without internet access, but hopefully that will be fixed soon!

i'm posting from my phone because i was afraid i'd forget this story and it was too cute not to write down...

the other night mason was wanting some milk and asked daddy to get it for him. we've been trying to encourage good manners so daddy said "what's the magic word?"

mason responded with an emphatic "miska mouska mickey mouse!"

not exactly the "please" he was looking for, but they are indeed the only magic words mason knows!
