I must confess it is quite different when she requests the flying airplane spoon in a full sentence than when she was babbling in her high chair.

Puppy love
Did I mention we have a puppy?
Just kidding. We have a Mason & Madison who crawl around and bark all.the.time. Despite their desperate pleas, Mommy maintains that this is a pet-free house. With Daddy's wacky work schedule, she really can't handle one more living thing!
The puppy show that M&M put on daily is awfully cute, though!
Forts are fun
Mason loves a good fort/tent. He built this one Friday morning and it stayed up through Sunday. He played in it, napped in it (once), and slept in it both Friday and Saturday night!
Perhaps the best part, though, is that he tore it down and cleaned up the whole mess on his own Sunday morning. I love to see glimpses of responsibility creeping into his character!
Easter fun
Daddy worked the entire Easter weekend, but we managed to entertain ourselves. Thankfully our church had a Saturday night service, so Brad met us there as his shift was ending (it's always interesting to see people's reactions when the uniformed state trooper walks into the church). The kids and I headed to Grammy & Pappy's on Sunday for good food, egg hunting and fun. Sunday night we hunted a few more eggs at home so Daddy could get in on some Easter action.
The weather was gorgeous and it is FINALLY feeling a bit like spring!

My two front teeth
A lot can happen in 24 hours. Case in point:
January 16:
After weeks of his tooth "hanging by a thread," it finally fell out at school. We placed it on his nightstand for the tooth fairy and he went to sleep.
January 17:
Sometime during the night, he lost the other one. After a panicked trip downstairs to report it was missing, he found the second tooth in his bed. The tooth fairy has been quite busy these days!Total surprise
A few weeks ago, Brad and I had a date night at the rodeo. All was well and we had a great time until the ride home... when this happened:
Thankfully (and amazingly), we walked away without a scratch. And thanks to Brad's coworker (who was kind enough to pick us up in Houston and bring us home), I can now say I've ridden in the back of a police car. Don't worry, I was merely a passenger and we managed to stuff 2 car seats in there with me in between the assorted state trooper weaponry that is mounted in the back seat. In case you're wondering, it was a tight squeeze!
So, despite my claims that my car was going to be a 10 year car, it was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. Sadly I had just received the congratulatory 1 year of ownership email!
I'm hoping the new one will truly be the 10 year car - actually I hope it 's more than that so it can be Mason's first car! Hard to believe that he'll be learning to drive in 10 years! Maybe that will be incentive for him to not leave goldfish and breakfast bar remnants in the back seat... Yeah right.
