let the work begin!

we closed on the new house on wednesday and now it's time for the real work to begin. the painters started yesterday, the flooring starts going in monday, and the various other tasks to be done are scheduled. i'm predicting a wild week, and with brad headed to austin for the week, mason and i should be quite busy.

let the games begin! the plan is for us to move in may 31... (i'm tired already!)

ding dong!

mason and i were playing upstairs this evening when daddy rang the doorbell. mason's face lit up as he ran from the train table and toward the stairs. "pizza?!"

no honey, it's just daddy. but it is simultaneously pathetic and hysterical that you automatically associate the doorbell ringing with the pizza delivery person.

i mentioned that mason did quite a bit of dancing at josh & leah's wedding last month, but i forgot that i had video evidence!

sold!

it's official - we are homeless! well, not quite, but we did close on the sale of our house today and we don't close on our new house until the 18th of may. thankfully, the (wonderfully gracious) new owners are letting us rent it back from them for a month!

we have had so many happy moments in this house. yet we know that even if we don't stay in this house, we still get to keep the memories. the adventure continues!

a grin and a swim

mason spent the night at grammy & pappy's saturday night. the official report from both sides was that it was lots of fun. they even took a dip in the (cooled) hot tub. roughly under the temperature of his bath water, mason and grammy swam and swam.

of course for toddlers, when you open up this door of opportunity, they want to take advantage of it every time they see it. in other words, they went for another dip on sunday when mason kept pointing to the hot tub and saying "i want to swim in that water!"

and as we've learned firsthand, it's hard to resist that grin...

on the hunt

mason hung out with some of his good buddies on friday for food, fun, and a little egg hunting... we had a great time & mason definitely learned that the good eggs are the ones with candy inside. for the record, when m&m's claim that they melt in your mouth, not in your hand, don't believe it. when they are tucked inside plastic eggs in an 88 degree egg hunt, they melt!

random tidbit for this post: i didn't notice until i downloaded the photos, but apparently blue eyes are a dominant trait among our friends!
