brad and i never eat on the run - and certainly mason hasn't had to eat in the car because we were running behind... ha! if you're reading this blog, you probably know me well enough to know that i hardly ever run ahead of schedule. this has only gotten worse since mason joined our family.
on saturday, we attended miss avery's birthday party. mason took a LONG nap that afternoon and i really hate to wake a sleeping baby. when 3:30 rolled around and he was still sleeping, we woke him. after all, the party started at 4! mason was too tired to eat much of his lunch earlier that day, so i bagged up the peanut butter sandwich and thought he could eat a few bites later. well, later turned into the in-car snack on the way to the party.
he ate several bites, then decided to stuff a handful of peanut butter sandwich bites (pbsb) in his mouth all at once. as you know, it's difficult to chew and swallow large chunks of peanut butter - so he ended up taking some of the half-chewed mass out of his mouth and thoughtfully dropped it on the floorboard of brad's truck.
brad was less than thrilled. he quickly reached back, grabbed the bites, and flung the 100% biodegradeable sandwich bite out the window. almost.

i swear i saw it happen in slow motion. i looked at brad and saw the gap between the door and the sun visor he had moved to the side to block the glare. he pushed the button to roll down the window and his timing was off just a bit. before we knew it, the soggy pbsb stuck to the window and was rapidly heading into never-never land inside the door panel.
the good news is brad is quick. he managed to pluck the pbsb off the window before it was sucked into the door and instead just helped smear a little peanut butter around.
i haven't laughed that hard in a week. in fact, i thought about it today on my drive home from work and laughed again. thus, you get to enjoy the story too. brad tells me that it's not that funny, but i hope you get a chuckle out of it anyway! :)
note: please forgive the low quality photo. all we had was brad's blackberry and i only had a second to grab the shot! the pbsb remnants are along the curve of the window to the left of the construction barrel...
