snuggly blankets are the best

when mason was around five or six months old we discovered that if we gave him a snuggly blanket when he laid down to sleep, he would konk out instantly. because i was convinced he would suffocate if i left it in his bed, i would sneak in 10 minutes later and carefully remove the blanket from his crib. (of course, he now prefers to sleep with the blanket over his head -- the silly boy).

the point of this story is that his love of soft, snuggly blankets is still in full effect. if i ever want him to snuggle with me (these moments are otherwise few and far between with our can't sit still for two seconds busy boy), i just pull out the blanket and it reels him right in. just in case it wasn't clear to me, mason clarified that it's not me that he loves to snuggle with -- it's the awesome blanket...

after a quick trip to the pool on saturday, we changed mason out of his swimsuit and into a fresh diaper and he took off crawling toward the den. enter snuggly blanket.

"why are you taking pictures of me?!"

"don't i look like such a big boy?!"

it seems that mason was also listening in when the nurses explained the swaddle / baby burrito technique at the hospital. he seems to have learned it so well, that he can now perform a self-burrito, which is quite a feat! what a little handsome guy he is!
