after learning that my luggage would not be joining us in st. maarten on monday, brad and i rented our car for the week and headed to phillipsburg to do some shopping for basic necessities. i begrudgingly wore the same clothes the day before. i flat out refused to wear them three days in row. let's just say that i can now say that brad shares everything with me - right down to his underwear!
stylishly outfitted in brad's boxer briefs, an XL t-shirt, and my jeans, we hit the shopping district in search of something that would fit my 7 month pregnant belly. easier said than done. we decided to start our hunt for a bathing suit. i didn't have much hope as brad pulled up to the first store - african & asian couture was in the name. my sentiments were confirmed as the store owner informed me that my only options were three, XXXL one-piece suits. hmm... belly = big, rest of kammy = not so big. i only wish we had brought the camera with us. it was comical to say the least, particularly with the boxer briefs hanging out the very loose leg holes ;)
we tried a couple more shops which were equally depressing until we stumbled upon one that had promise - and a large selection of bathing suits!
it took pretty much the whole day, but we managed to find me a bathing suit, undergarments, and 3 sundresses to fit over the ever-expanding belly. i'm not sure what pregnant st. maarten residents wear, but from what we saw, the pickin's are slim!
we drove back to our resort, walked down to the beach for a little while and then went to dinner.... all without taking a single picture of the day.
