You never outgrow superheroes...
These costumes may be from 2 halloweens ago, but it just goes to show that you never outgrow superheroes!

There's a reason it's called a merry-go-round
We can't visit the mall without a ride on the carousel. They both love it, although one is better at playing it cool :)
Shoe monster...
We recently completed some renovations at the house and while our favorite carpenter was building cabinets, we had him build an awesome shoe organizer for my closet. I'm not sure who loves it more.... me or the shoe princess. She now insists on selecting my shoes for me each morning, then modeling a few pairs before school. Daddy better start taking on some extra jobs to supplement the shoe fund!

Trooper baby
Could she be any cuter? Daddy retired his old trooper hat and this "cowgirl" couldn't resist.

Consistency
Unlike her mama's blogging habits, this girl is consistent. Two years in and she's still an ankle crosser :)

Eat your food!
Little bit has been talking more and more the past couple of months and we can generally understand most of what she's saying. She sings along with songs (she is particularly a HUGE fan of the wheels on the bus) and tonight I caught her singing along with the radio. Have I mentioned that she is WAY more verbal than Mason was at this age?!
Madison's first official 3 word sentence was spoken at dinner tonight... Eat your food! We were eating at the "fire place" aka Shogun and she kept pointing to everyone's plate with food still on it (we were all stuffed), saying "eat your food!"
I can't imagine where she's heard that before (sheepish grin).
Sure do love this girl...

Halloween fun
It was a day of dress up today, especially after the bad weather knocked out the electricity at the kids' school, so we had an unexpected day with mommy (while she tried to work from home).
Madison and Mason both love to play with costumes, but Madison went all out today! I was worried she wouldn't wear her real Halloween costume tonight after she REFUSED to put it on this morning, but she rocked the Minnie Mouse outfit (complete with ears) for the whole trick or treat adventure.
I love how they posed together in both photos - such sibling love!

Bubbles!
We love bubbles! Madison knows as soon as dinner is over, it is bubble time. She runs to the bathroom yelling "bubbles" and starts trying to climb in the tub - with or without clothes on!
Madison says cheese!

Today
Breakfast before church turned into soggy-up-to-my-calves event when the rain left the parking lot flooded
Baseball baby
We finally took the plunge. Mason has always LOVED sports, but we hadn't yet signed him up to play on a real team until this fall. He's now playing K-ball with the local little league organization.
While Mason is loving every minute (except that his first game was supposed to be today and was rained out), I hadn't really thought about the fact that Madison would instantly become a baseball baby since she has to come to all the practices and games too!
So far, she's taking it all in stride. I'm just waiting for her to run out on the field and try to play!

Shoe (and sock) lover
This girl LOVES shoes. And socks. She is not particular about whose shoes and socks she wears. If you leave them anywhere near her, she considers them fair game - and she doesn't need help putting them on.
Check out our little fashionista...

Sibling love
While we occasionally have brother/sister showdowns, most of the time Mason & Madison get along really well. They truly adore each other. Mason is a great big brother, looking out for his little sister and making sure that all is right in her world.
Here are a couple of photos from tonight's dinner of their sibling love.
And what an awesome brother - he keeps smiling even when Madison puts him in a headlock...

First time for everything
Despite the fact that I have been encouraging this behavior for a week (after she showed initial interest), it was daddy who witnessed the first real action on the potty.
I'll spare you the other photo that Brad texted me :/
We're nowhere near being potty trained but she is certainly recognizing when things are happening, so it's a start! Way to go Madison!
